On
“Chemical compostion
of UHE cosmic rays and models of hadronic
interactions”
Abstract:
Recent
progress in the description of high energy hadronic
interactions is
discussed in connection to experimental studies
of
primary cosmic ray composition in the very high energy range.
The
predictions of model approaches based on the Reggeon
Field
Theory
are compared to the ones of the minijet scheme and
the
key role
of cosmic ray measurements at the 'knee' energies is
underlined. The
present situation with the UHECR composition
studies is
discussed, regarding the remaining experimental
puzzles, the
differences between hadronic model predictions,
and the
future progress in model development.
